Today, one of my readers is having a biiiig birthday.

Ten years ago, we climbed Mount Sopris to celebrate her 70th. We will not climb any mountain this time but the spirit is still there.

I have so many memories of good times, of happy gatherings in Aspen and Saint George and of great hikes of course. On Sundays, we would let go of any other activity, take off early morning and go up in the mountains. I know you enjoy receiving this blog, my way to keep hiking with you.

Happy 80th birthday dear Gesine!

Sending you all the flowers of the Rocky Mountains. I found this orange Agoseris  two days ago on New York Creek trail.

Catherine – What a nice tribute to what I know is a very meaningful friendship! And Happy Birthday, Gesine! (I used to play tennis with Jack, once upon a time…)

    Dear Catherine,
You make me cry! What a surprise to be the subject of your blog, bringing back endless memories. Kristine and I carried on the hiking tradition this morning with a gentle hike in the beautiful forest of Pine Valley, alongside the Santa Clara headwaters. I love the Agoseris. It’s like a celebratory firework for my birthday. Love, Gesine
